Avalon Advisory advises Two Sides on acquisition by Sony Music
Berlin, 19 December 2025 – Avalon Advisory GmbH successfully advised Two Sides GmbH and TWOSIDES MGMT GmbH (“Two Sides”), an independent music label and artist management company, on its sale to Sony Music Entertainment Germany GmbH (“Sony Music”).
As part of the transaction, Sony Music acquired a majority stake and the operational business of Two Sides. With this transaction, a label that has significantly shaped the German music landscape over the past decade partners with one of the world’s leading music companies. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
Few labels stand for the sound and attitude of a generation as strongly as Two Sides. Founded by Lucas Teucher and Julian Otto (aka Bausa), Two Sides established itself early on as a creative pace-setter in German rap and hip-hop. The label has been and continues to be closely connected with artists who have had a lasting influence on the genre – including Bausa, Apache 207, Capital Bra, Loredana, Shindy and many other defining names in the scene. Through its releases, artist development and cultural impulses, Two Sides has helped write German music history and defined the zeitgeist of an entire generation.
Even prior to the transaction, there had been a long-standing and close collaboration between Two Sides and Sony Music. The combination with Sony Music enables Two Sides to take its creative power to the next level. The partnership brings together Two Sides’ independence, proximity to the scene and artistic vision with Sony Music’s international reach, infrastructure and market expertise – with the aim of building artists sustainably and positioning them globally.
Avalon Advisory acted as exclusive M&A advisor to Two Sides and supported the shareholders throughout the entire transaction process. The advisory approach included not only the execution of the sale process but also the targeted strategic and structural preparation of the company for a successful transaction. In addition to the targeted approach of a strategic partner, Avalon Advisory coordinated the due diligence process as well as the contract negotiations through to the successful closing of the transaction.
